_courtney_’s Gallery: happy

This  LO is for an ad challenge for Scrapbook Kit Club design team. Lots of flowers and bling. I have so much to many flowers for having a boy. I’m hoping the bright flowers aren’t too girly. This may be the first time I completed a LO only using one piece of PP.

catch me if you can

I’m on a roll! My white paint dauber dried up. I took an end of a foam brush and wiped the paint on. ha! Paint will not go to waste.

This was done for a design team challenge at Scrapbook Kit Club.

Another day of work

The good news is that I’ve been inspired to get lots of work done. The job of a writer is not an easy one. Sometimes the words just aren’t there no matter what you do.

The bad news is that I still haven’t gotten much accomplished on the craft front. I have all these kits piling up. I know there are plenty of things for me to scrap about. For one, I still haven’t finished Nick’s baby book. None of it is calling out to me.

Perhaps cleaning up my office will spark the creativity.

Breast cancer awareness quilt

There was a quilt pattern I saw made up of pink ribbons for breast cancer awareness. I haven’t found the one I was looking for, but I did find this one:

Forgiveness

It took me a too long to realize this….

It really doesn’t matter if the person who hurt you deserves to be forgiven. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself.

And for something on the lighter side:

Kirk: I suspect you’re becoming more and more human all the time.
Spock: Captain, I see no reason to stand here and be insulted.

gotta get something done….

And some inspirational to get something accomplished today:

You cannot plough a field by turning it over in your mind. – uknown

It was high counsel that I once heard given to a young person, “Always do what you are afraid to do.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson (love that guy)

Fat Quarters

When I started quilting, I didn’t see the point of fat quarters. How could you buy so little of a fabric you loved???? I’m not sure what I was thinking. Fat quarters are wonderful – read cheaper.

Browsing around the other day, I found a blog with a list of fat quarter blogs. I think I’ll make a mouse pad. The purse is adorable, plus the tissue holders! There are way too many to pick from. I’m hoping maybe I’ll have enough in scraps to make some of the smaller things.

Quick Quilts Issue

After months of saying their new website was going to be launched soon, McCall’s Quick Quilts finally did launch their new site. Much better design.

Bad part is that I’m not all that crazy about any of the patterns. I think I may just skip this issue.
